Just several weeks after releasing the jailbreak for the iPhone 3G, the Dev Team is once again ready to unveil their next project – a jailbreak for 2nd generation iPod Touch. The software isn’t final yet, but it seems as if its release is just around the corner. Once again, stop by Dev Team’s blog for more information on when the application will be released.

Several web browsers have appeared in the AppStore starting last night. In the past Apple has not allowed the sale of such applications in their online store, but now it appears that they’ve lifted the ban. Some of these browsers include:

Edge Browser (Free)
Webmate: Tabbed Browser ($0.99)
Incognito ($1.99)
Shaking Web ($1.99)
Squeaky – The Clean Web Browser ($3.99)

This marks an important step in mobile browser design, because it opens up the possibility for release of mobile versions of such great browsers as Opera and FireFox.

Brian Solis over at bub.blicio.us was able to get an exclusive photo shoot of the upcoming ultra thin Adamo laptop by Dell. After spending months in private beta testing, Microsoft has finally released a beta version of Windows 7 to the general public. This version is build 7000, and is available as 32bit or 64bit downloads. There are two and a half million beta keys up for grabs. Head over to the Windows 7 website for more information.

Today at the MacWorld in San Francisco, Apple announced the new MacBook Pro 17″ notebook. Some of the key features include:

-Up to 2.93GHz Core 2 Duo CPU with 6MB Cache
-Up to 8GB of 1066MHz RAM
-320GB 5400RPM, 7200RPM or a choice of 128GB or 256GB SSD hard drives.
-9400M GT and 9600M GT graphics chipset.
-17″ 1920×1200 Glass or Anti-Glare LED Display.
-6.6lbs in weight.
-Up to 8 hours of battery life.
Prices starting at $2,799.00, or higher depending on options.

Other things announced included iLife ’09, iWork 09 and iWork.com services, DRM-Free music downloads from iTunes, and more.

Looks like the Dev Team delivered much more than it originally promised us in 2008. The team originally planned on releasing a SIM unlock for version 2.1 of the firmware which included an older version of the baseband, but after some last minute work they ended up releasing an unlock which works with the latest firmware 2.2 baseband, version 2.28.
